Refrigerator
Today is pretty simple.
Simple Steps:
Start with the condiments. Check the dates. Throw it away if it has expired.
Go shelf by shelf. This is a good time to wipe out your refrigerator, unless you do it consistently. I remove the shelves and wash them in the sink. It takes a few minutes per shelf. Do you have any old Tupperware containers full of food you can’t identify? Please don’t answer that, just throw it away.
Clean the drawers. Again, I just pull them out, empty, and wash in the sink. It’s a quick and easy way to clean all the onion peels out of your refrigerator.
Do the same with your door shelves.
Move to the freezer. Do you have food that is over a year old? Throw it away. This should not come as a surprise to you, but my freezer is organized by like foods. Top shelf holds desserts. Next shelf, breads that I buy on the day old rack. The following shelf is for frozen veggies and frozen meals. The bottom shelf is for meats. The door shelves are for ice packs. Give your freezer a quick cleaning as well. As you Prepare Your Home for the Holidays, allow your freezer to get close to empty. Make room for the holiday meals, both the turkey and the left overs.
Come back tomorrow as we organize the dining room.
I want to encourage you to keep going. The rest of this week’s assignments are pretty light. Then it’s one more week before we are ready for November. This weekend I was looking at the calendar with Sara and already feeling overwhelmed by the holidays and our family birthdays. As I am preparing the next series, Prepare Your Heart for the Holidays, I can see why the Lord is leading me to write it. I need it! Let us know how you are doing in the comments below.
