Dining Room
Our house does not have a formal dining room. We have a cute kitchen nook with a bay window. I think it’s perfect. There isn’t much for me to organize in our nook with one exception. We have a hutch with open shelves. This is where I keep our set of dishes and some sentimental pieces. One of my favorite pieces is a tea set I purchased in China when I adopted Kate.
On the bottom shelf I have a box full of linens. Tomorrow we will organize our linens.
I grew up with a formal dining room as well as a table in the kitchen. My mom has a china cabinet full of all kinds of treasures. In my parent’s house, the dining room has a closet. My dad installed shelves to hold extra dishes and serving platters. What a brilliant idea!
Follow this simple step to an organized dining room.
Simple Steps:
Start with your hutch or china cabinet. Go through each shelf or drawer. Do you have anything you can get rid of? Anything you don’t use? Anything you can pass on to another family member? A few of my sentimental pieces are pieces my mom passed on to me. I did get rid of the cups and saucers from our everyday set which provided me more room on my hutch. Can you open up some space for something you will use more often?
Tomorrow we will organize linens. This helps make your day’s assignment pretty simple.
