“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
How does that verse strike you? Lately I have been struggling with a situation in my life. Sometimes doing the right thing is hard. Sometimes, how about most times?
I feel like I have been in the battle for too long. I am beat up and feeling overwhelmed. I feel like throwing in the towel and moving on. Why does it have to be so hard?
The other morning the Lord reminded me that He placed this situation in my life, on purpose. He put a call on my life just for this very difficult time. He could have given it to someone else, but He didn’t. He gave it to me.
As I was preparing to write this post, I was praying about what to write. I came across this verse. It made me smile.
I remember my sister sharing this verse with me when she was struggling with a similar situation. The Lord brought this verse to her mind right when she was feeling discouraged.
Today, He shines a light on it for me. And maybe even for you.
Are you stuck? Or in a messy situation? Or discouraged? Do you do the right thing and wonder if it’s worth it?
If God has called you to it, then it is worth it! “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” We can’t give up. We can’t throw in the towel.
The harvest is coming! Maybe not today or not for a long time, but it is coming. Hang in there. Know that I am praying for you as you read this to be encouraged. You are in the right place at the right time.
