Day 3: Read a Devotional
How are you doing with your memory verse? You are investing in your own future. The Holy Spirit can tap into your memory years from now and remind you of the very verse you are memorizing now when you need it later. It is a gift you are giving yourself.
Another way you can Nurture Your Walk with the Lord is to Read a Devotional as a supplement to your Bible reading.
Each morning (actually Monday through Friday during the school year) the girls and I read Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. Each day is short and by the time the girls have poured their cereal, Im done reading. It gives us something to talk about. There have been so many times that it has spoken exactly to what one of us has needed to hear.
My sister has worn out her copies of Power of a Praying Parent and Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.
I enjoy reading devotionals where you pray the scriptures. One that I read for years is Beth Moores Praying Gods Word Day by Day. Another one, that my mom just loves is, Face to Face by Kenneth Boa.
