Frying Pan Chili

There’s nothing quite like a big bowl of chili on a cold, cloudy, fall day.  This is one of my family’s favorite meals.  I like to serve it over rice and with a side of cornbread.  I promise, you will love it.

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2-14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 1-16 oz. can kidney beans
  • 2-16 oz. can pork & beans
  • chili powder (I use about 1/4 tsp. but you may want to use 1 or 2 TBSP.)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cumin

Simple Steps:

  1. Brown ground beef and drain off fat in large frying pan over medium high heat.
  2. Add onions, garlic, and green peppers.  Sauté for 4 minutes.
  3. Mix in remaining ingredients.  Bring to boil and reduce heat to medium low.
  4. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Enjoy!
